How do I start freelancing if I’m a little bit clueless about earning money in general?

Hello, currently I’m planning to do a freelancing job, specifically web scraping, but to be honest I’m still new and clueless about earning money in general. Like, how does the payments work, especially if it’s online? Am I gonna be paid only one time or hourly? What happens if there is some kind of NDA? How do I write the contract? How do I avoid myself from being scammed? I feel like my cluelessness would lead me to ce scammed.. Part of me thinks that I should start freelancing later when I starting to understand how all of this works, but at the same time other part of me feels like if I don’t start now then I won’t ever understand how all of this works.
